This HyperIM plugin can extract over twenty details from iTunes, which you can use in your status! You can simply show the song title, or you can go ahead and use advanced details like the current bitrate, song length, playlist size, or ID3 tags details like the album name, release year, and even the Comment field of a song! You can have a progress bar show up in your status, and you can customize its length, and its elements!

Supported iTunes versions

This plugin has been around for a while! It is compatible with all released iTunes versions. It has been succesfully used and is guaranteed to work with:

• iTunes 7.4.1.2 - latest version (Sep. 14 2007)
• iTunes 7.3.2.6
• iTunes 7.3.1.3
• iTunes 4.1 and newer

The following image shows how HyperIM "sees" what's playing in iTunes, thanks to this plugin. All those macros can further be used in HyperIM, for example to set your status in a supported IM client, or to send the info to a web script, for dynamic signatures etc.

Tip: hit CTRL + Space to view and insert desired macros in your status format.
