Hi to all users of this excelent plugin, i used without a problem this tool with all versions of YM till i install YM 10.0.0.525beta under Winamp 5.56.2512 on WinXP pro sp3.I got this error |Error 0x800040005 YM ERROR STATUS|.I begin u to make it possible to work with last versions of YM and Winamp! to reject all bugs.
P.S. Perhaps you can compile a special version not to make compatible with earlier versions of winamp or Ym, but only with last versions.I work with c++ language in the past and i know: very few lines in programmaing language is a good solution to work flawless and with a speed good.I sugest to make different versions a this best plugin for different version of windows and ym.10x Frate tine`o tot asa:)

'YM Now Playing 4.6' works fine with 'Yahoo Messenger 10.0.1102'.

When we start listening a song in radio (streaming) via Winamp, there's a buffering percentage progresses.

It's not showed by YM Now Playing 4.6.

I think it would be nice to add options "show the [Buffering... %]"

So, our buddy can notice that we are listening radio-streaming not local file, and interest to seek that channel to listen together  Love struck

The buffering percentage is not shown because it can lead very easily to blocking the status. That's why it just says "Buffering", to avoid this kind of problems. Depending on the connection the buffering can be very often and changing the status so often is impractical.

This plugin really works even with the latest yahoo messenger version. Y! Amp does not. Smiley This works very well! Only one sugestion: Remove the progress bar in future releases of this. It shouldn;t be used by default. Progress bar means changing the status very often, which makes your status be blocked by Yahoo after few songs and it's anoying. Just a sugestion. Smiley Otherwise, everything cool for this plugin. It works with no problems for yahoo messenger 10.0.0.1102, which is the latest now. Happy New Year to all of you!

Hi. Im using this little pluging with AIMP 2.60 and its not fully stable with it. (note: aimp has the same plugin engine as winamp, it works with many winamp plugins)

First i installed in Winamps folder than i removed the gen_ymStatus.dll to AIMP2/plugin folder.

The problem is that it shows only the music in your status if the song has no artist or title like in the picture:

I have a little request to the author. Can you edit the plugin that to show the file name that your are playing in AIMP?(to add an option to show the file name) if artist and title doesn't work separate. Or to make a separate version that is compatible with AIMP.

Te rog frumos!

Having the same plugin "engine" does not guarantee that AIMP works the same as Winamp when regarding metadata extraction for currently played song. In your case, I am 99% sure that it only works when the song has no title, simply because AIMP doesn't use the same method of getting currently played info like Winamp does.

I don't use AIMP, so the answer is no, there will be no separate version.

Is there any plan add support for Unicode artist/song/album titles to this excellent plugin? Smiley

Works for me. Try uninstalling and the reinstalling the plugin.

The only problem I spotted was that it sometimes couldn't display the song length ($D), it's just blank, stopping and re-playing the track had no effect, the variable $D was blank, but somehow changing to another track then reverting back to the original track solved the problem. It's intermittent problem and apparently occurs on random track.

FYI I'm using Winamp 5.57 and the latest plugin v4.6 on Windows 7 x64 (You know the reason I use this plugin was because HyperIM doesn't work on Windows 7 x64, it did work flawlessly on Windows 7 x86)

A new version of this plugin is ready to be released soon. I am looking for beta-testers to test the new version using various versions of Winamp and Yahoo Messenger. You can PM me for details.

There have been many fixes and also significantly updated compatibility with the latest version of Yahoo Messenger 10.

The new version will be indented to be used only by lovers of quality music. I do not agree with this plugin as a form to promote junk music, and as such there will be some measures that might cause disturbance in some circles. This only applies for a specific subgenre of romanian "music", so no need to worry if you don't even know (or care) where Romania is located on the world map.

Hahaha, great initiative! Thank you for this, you're a genius!

Getting back on topic, although right now I use mainly Linux, I'll gladly boot my dusty ol' Windows 7 partition to test this out. I'll send you a PM, too.

Are you referring to Unicode support for the status format, or just Unicode support for the song title taken from Winamp? The first one would require a separate build, the second one is something that I recall seeing in the latest Winamp APIs and might just be do-able (considering YM 8 and later support non-ascii statuses).
